Privacy Policy

JC Alterations & Tailoring operates jcalterationstulsa.com and two tailoring shops in Tulsa and Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We are a small local business. We do not sell your information.

01Information we collect

Information you give us

• When you book: your name, phone number, email address, the service you want, and your preferred date and time.
• When you contact us: your name, email, phone, and whatever you write.
• When you visit the shop: your garment measurements and alteration notes, so we can identify your order and reach you when it's ready.
• When you pay: payment is processed by Square. Card details are entered directly with Square and handled on their systems. We receive a confirmation and the last four digits of the card. We never see or store your full card number.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our website, our hosting and security providers log standard technical data: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and the time of your visit. This keeps the site running, secure and fast.

Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use our site — which pages get visited, how long people stay, and whether they arrived from a search, a social post, or the QR code on our business card. It sets cookies and collects your IP address, device and browser type, approximate city-level location, and the pages you view. Google truncates IP addresses before storing them, so we cannot see your full IP or identify you by name through Analytics. We use this only in aggregate. We do not build a profile of you as an individual.

• Schedule, confirm, change and remind you about appointments
• Complete and return your alteration or tailoring order
• Respond to your questions
• Take payment and provide receipts
• Keep records of past work, so a returning customer's measurements and preferences are on file
• Keep our website secure
• Send marketing messages — only if you have asked us to

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.

03Text messages

If you give us your mobile number, we may text you about your order — to confirm an appointment, ask about a garment, or tell you it's ready for pickup. These are transactional messages about work you asked us to do.

04Email

We send order-related email because you asked us to do the work. Any promotional email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect promptly.

05Who we share with

Only the providers we need to run the business, and only as far as they need:

Each has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data. We may also disclose information if required by law or a valid legal request, or to protect our rights, safety or property.

06Cookies

• Necessary cookies keep the site working and secure, and keep your booking session intact.
• Analytics cookies are set by Google Analytics to measure how the site is used.
• We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Google Signals and Google Ads personalization are switched off on our Analytics property.

To opt out of Google Analytics, install Google's official opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, which stops Analytics collecting data from you on any site. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser. If you block cookies generally, parts of the site — particularly booking — may stop working. Google's privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.

07How long we keep it

• Appointment and order records: while you remain a customer, and 3 years after, so we can reference past work and meet tax and accounting requirements.
• Contact messages: 3 years.
• Website analytics: Google Analytics keeps cookie- and identifier-level data for 14 months, then deletes it. Aggregated, non-identifying reports may be kept longer.
• Website logs: a short period, per our hosting and security providers' standard retention.

When we no longer need information, we delete it or render it unidentifiable.

08How we protect it

We use HTTPS across the site, limit access to customer records to people who need it, and rely on established providers for payment and booking so sensitive data stays with specialists. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

09Your choices

You may ask us to:

• Show you what we hold about you, and give you a copy
• Correct anything inaccurate
• Delete your information, unless we must keep it for tax or legal reasons
• Stop marketing — reply STOP to a text, click unsubscribe in an email, or just tell us

Email [email protected] or call either shop. We'll respond within a reasonable time, and we won't treat you differently for asking.

10Children

Our website and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and will delete it if we learn we have. Alterations for a child are arranged through a parent or guardian, whose contact details we hold.

11Other sites

We link to Instagram, Facebook, Google Maps and our booking provider. Once you follow one of those links you're on their site, under their privacy policy, not ours.

12Changes

If we change this policy we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged clearly on the site.
